Where Social Growth Happens Through Play

When we first met Kerri, my son was incredibly anxious and would not participate well in her sessions. I was devastated and considered taking him out of her playgroups assuming he would make no progress. However, Kerri saw the potential in my son and assured me she would get results. I just needed to trust her. Well, I am so glad I did! Just a few short months later, my son has made AMAZING progress with Kerri! My son is now participating in her sessions, listening to instructions, interacting with the other child in his group, and speaking so much more (starting to speak in full sentences!!!!!)! The progress has carried over to school and home. Most importantly, he LOVES going to Kerri’s playgroups and has a blast with her. He talks about Kerri everyday

Kerri is an incredibly skilled early interventionist who will undoubtedly help your child grow and progress. But what I really think makes her the best of the best is how much she genuinely cares about the kids and their families. Kerri has become one of my sons biggest cheerleaders. She takes time out of her day to connect with my son’a teachers. She is constantly staying in touch and is there for advice and suggestions and is a great listener when I just need to vent or need some encouragement. It is clear that she put her whole heart and soul into what she does. I am so appreciative for how she treats and cares about my son. She sees his potential, celebrates all his accomplishments and had always been incredibly optimistic about him. He and I are so lucky to have her on his team.

I chanced upon Kerri when I needed help for my child who wasn’t as verbal as he should have been for his age. When you see her work with your children and how she gets in to his/ her world and then plays with them to get the verbal and interactive skills out, it’s nothing short of magic. Ofcourse, Patience is key as she always reminds me. But it’s the years of experience with kids that she puts into work to transform your child. Her sessions are individualized to meet where your child is at. My child lights up when he sees her and is always excited to play with Kerri. She has a gift. And she is here to help you transform your child. We have been with Kerri for close to 4 months and she has been instrumental in the improvements we have observed with our child.

There are not enough words to describe what a wonderful person and teacher Miss Kerri is! She truly has a heart of Gold and puts her whole heart and soul in connecting with and teaching my son. My son had a short attention span when we first started several months ago but after a few sessions through Kerri’s relentless effort she was able to create a such a special bond with him. He loves his Miss Kerri! She always has something new set up in her beautiful playroom for him. She caters to his interests and incorporates music he enjoys to tap into his speech and attention. His eye contact and attention has gotten so much better! Even his school teachers have noticed such a difference. Kerri always sends him home with little activities and checks up on him. She truly cares about him and he always has endless hugs for her. Her energy is magnetic! We are so lucky to have found her. I wish we had found her sooner!

My son runs to Kerri!! He has the best time with her. We are so grateful for Kerri because there is no one like her. My son was nonverbal before we started services with Kerri. Several sessions later, my son started singing with her.

Our paths crossed by chance-she was assigned to be my son’s early intervention instructor. At that time, my son was 18 months, not yet speaking or responding to his name, and merely dumping blocks everywhere and running in circles without purpose. Through patience and persistence, Kerri worked with my son where he was at developmentally and through her tailored approach he has made tremendous progress! He knows his colors, numbers, speaks in 4-5 word utterances and plays with purpose. He will be aging out of Early Intervention and placed in an integrated classroom in the fall. We could not be prouder of our son and how Kerri was with us through this journey. Thank you Kerri for sharing your gift with us!

I had been looking for a play therapy group for my son for a long time and Kerry’s group came highly recommended. It has been almost 7 months and since then my he is talking more, interacting, and singing. His socialization skills have improved so much. We are sincerely grateful for the help and emotional support that Kerri has provided for our family. She goes above and beyond her responsibility and is the reason kids like my son can succeed. You are truly and inspiration and make us feel he can achieve anything.. My only wish is that he will have more teachers like this throughout his life. Now my son is preschool ready!!!!!

My son has been going to Kerri’s playgroups for the past 5 months and we have seen tremendous growth and progress in him in such a small amount of time. He is a true pandemic baby with a speech delay, short attention span, and low frustration tolerance. That sounds like a typical toddler, but he was never exposed to other kids and we were worried that he would not enjoy school once he started this Autumn. But, since he started going to Kerri’s groups, he now loves school and going to her playgroups. He interacts with all of his teachers and classmates, his speech has blossomed, he follows directions, and he is able to ask for help now without getting as frustrated. Kerri also connects with us parents so we can continue to foster the same growth at home. She truly cares about her students and their families. If it wasn’t for Kerri, I truly believe my son would not enjoy school. I cannot thank her enough for all she has done for him and am so thankful I found her playgroup!!! Thank you Kerri for all that you do!!!

I can’t begin to recommend Kerri & Marsha more! My son started working with them at 2.5 when he was having challenges developing language and having difficulty at his 2s program. When he started going to Kerri’s classes his skills changed immediately even after one class, it was absolutely amazing. He now runs into her classes with a huge smile and his language has grown so much. Their in-depth knowledge of early childhood learning & ability to make it just so much fun is unmatched. I am a speech therapist myself and have worked with children & teachers for many years and can easily say I have never worked with teachers who go so above and beyond and connect with children as well as they are able to, they are gifted! If you are deciding on any services for your child I just cannot say enough Kerri’s kids should be your first place. In addition to the outstanding progress and work with my son, Kerri served as such a support system to my family, always reaching out and checking in on how his week is going. My son is 4 years old and I found Kerri through a group on Facebook. My son struggles with appropriate socialization with his peers at school and verbal communication. Kerri and Marsha have been absolutely fabulous. My son now requests items he wants using full sentences. He is also speaking to peers in full sentences and requesting to play more frequently. We started with Kerri about 2 months ago and great progress has already been seen. She is also very supportive towards me, never hesitates to pick up the phone and give me a call if I have a concern with my little guy at school and help me through it. So blessed to have found her.

I truly do not think we would have made THIS MUCH progress without Kerri. Her 20+ years of experience working with developmentally delayed children shows!

Our boy lost the few words he was speaking at 3 (3 phrases: fire truck, ice cream, and no) and because we have no friends or family in the state, we just didn’t have many opportunities to give him play time with other children. So placing him in a playgroup was an absolute MUST. When I found out that Kerri’s Kids provided a tailored experience WITH other children, I just knew this was the place for my son.

It’s been 7 months now with Kerri (We decided to continue beyond the 12 week program) and it’s been so wonderful hearing my son’s voice! I just melt every time I hear him talking.

Our latest achievement is him now understanding the word “wait” when previously he thought we meant “No” and it would send him into frustration.
